Since it was founded in the year 1450, the University of Barcelona has been a leading centre of education, science and critical thought.

The quality of its teaching and research, which have won recognition both inside and outside Spain, complements the UB's commitment to serving the interests of local society and the country as a whole, and combines with a demonstrably dynamic, constructive and humanist character that permeates the daily activities of the institution.

Demand from prospective students consistently exceeds the offer of places, with more than 64.000 students enrolling each year at one of the UB's six campuses. In the academic year 2017-2018, students were distributed across 73 bachelor's degrees, 153 university master's degrees, 48 doctoral programmes, over 700 postgraduate courses and 597 on-site and distance lifelong learning courses.

A broad selection of courses in offered, covering the many disciplines that make up the principal branches of knowledge: humanities, health sciences, social sciences, experimental sciences and engineering. As far as international research is concerned, the University has so far secured funding totalling more than 20 million euros for 61 research projects from the European Commission's Horizon 2020 programme. In the meantime, the HUBc, a campus of international excellence, has received the highest rating possible in the Spanish Ministry of Education, Culture and Sport's final evaluation report. The achievements in question, together with active participation in networks such as the League of European Research Universities, the organization and hosting of the third Arab-Euro Conference on Higher Education, and the creation of an Ibero-American University Union, complement and reinforce the University's institutional policies on research, teaching quality, internationalization and transferring knowledge to society.

The combination of all these factors has paved the way for the University of Barcelona to retain its position of leadership among Spain's universities in the main international rankings. The University is on the point of completing the process that will restructure its administrative units and academic centres and departments so that these can make better use of resources and operate more effectively.

The figures presented here summarize the UB's actions and activities over the last academic year in the areas of teaching, research, innovation, internationalization and mobility:

· 24,201 references to the UB's scientific activity in the written press.
· 5,741 scientific publications.
· 75 patent applications.
· 6 new technology- based spin-offs.
· The UB, through the 10 members of its staff awarded the 2014 ICREA Acadèmia Award by the Catalan Institution for Research and Advanced Studies, is the university with the highest number of winners.
· For the academic year 2018-2019, 14,701 students have chosen the UB as their first option.
This figure represents 31,31 % of first-choice applications in the Catalan public university system and gives a demand ratio for places of 1,3.
· 88,987,953 euros generated by the UB Group through research and technology transfer.

The partner will contribute to the identification of thematic areas and related indicators to build the matrix for the Inclusiveness Index. They will provide empirical and scientific support for the definition of the indicators and they will contribute to the development of the survey that will be used among staff members (teaching, research and administration staff) of our HEI and students (irrespective of grade and coursework)

They will implement the Inclusiveness Index, which involves: - Implementation of the Index: completing the tables and assessing our HEI - Involve staff and students: a tentative but realistic estimate of the number of staff and students that we will be able to involve at implementation over a period of at least 7 months is 1.200 students and 120 staff members. Our research group is able to support this contribution and implementation with the participation of two granted MSs Students and specific funding for methodological training
