University College Dublin, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Strategy and Action Plan 2018 - 2020 - 2025

This is an institutional strategy and framework for promoting Equality,
Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) across the University. The EDI is a part of the University
Management Team (UMT) - with a clear goal of mainstreaming and improving EDI. They
make recommendations to the UMT. A range of university committees work together
with the above including; Athena SWAN Steering Committee, the Gender Equality Action
Group (GEAG); University Widening Participation Committee (WPC).
There are subgroups of the EDI Group: Data subgroup; Multicultural subgroup; LGBTI
subgroup; Disability subgroup; Research & Curriculum subgroup.
The EDI group has developed an EDI Assessment Tool which is submitted with all new
central university policies. The group oversees and monitors as well as recommends and
develops policies and tools. For Example: new promotion policies; gender policies - e.g.
maternity & sick leave levy on all salaries; Gender Identity & Expression Policy; Dignity &
